[Orizzonti – Short Films Competition]
HIMINN OPINN by Clyde Gates and Gabriel Sanson will have its world premiere in the Orizzonti section, Short Films competition.
A fallen community struggles to survive on a remote island. A young woman seems to bear a strange disease that makes the vegetation and the animals perish. A lonely shepherd volunteers to escort her in the deserted lowlands to prevent her from contaminating the rest of the village.
Produced by Scum Pictures (Belgium) and Need Productions (Belgium), this short film features Tristan Tessier and Judith Williquet, with the voices of Jonathan Pryce and Kate Fahy.
Himinn Opinn is the third short film project from Brussels-based production house SCUM Pictures. Founded by 23–year-old former students Arnaud Gattlen, Gabriel Sanson and Clyde Gates (Swiss, French and Belgian respectively) who met while studying at the INSAS Film & Theatre School in Belgium, SCUM Pictures aims to challenge existing filmmaking conventions and return to what Clyde calls “a more physical approach to creativity”.
