SYNOPSIS
Curveball tells the grotesque, at times even surreal, true story of how the Iraq war, with the involvement of the German government and secret service, was started based on nothing but faulty intelligence. Bioweapons expert Wolf of the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) is obsessed with the idea that, despite UN inspections, anthrax is still being produced in Iraq. Back home in Germany, his superior Schatz assigns him as case officer for the Iraqi asylum seeker Rafid Alwan because Alwan claims to have worked as an engineer for Saddam Hussein’s secret bioweapons program. It’s a rare triumph for a secret service not exactly spoilt by success: finally, they have a piece of intelligence that would put them one step ahead of the CIA. What they are missing, though, is proof. The search for which proves difficult, as “Curveball” is well aware of his value to the agency. His claims, meanwhile, end up serving a number of decidedly different interests—the CIA, the German government, everyone is trying to use his incredible story for their own purposes. Thus, bit by bit, a construed story becomes reality and a lie becomes the truth. A truth, which sets in motion a chain of events that forever changes the global political landscape.

SYNOPSIS
He is strong and he shines in all the colours of the rainbow. Using his many arms, he throws Jeanne into the air, all the while holding her tight. He is Jumbo, a fairground ride. And Jeanne, who collects rubbish in the amusement park at night, is in love with him. However the shy young woman’s affection for a machine causes a lot of dismay: Her mother, who is usually very open when it comes to sexuality, feels ashamed of Jeanne. And Marc, the amusement park director, would prefer to have her at his side. In her debut film, Zoé Wittock portrays an eccentric love affair that leaves a tingling sensation like a high-adrenaline freefall ride and is jolting like a collision on the dodgems.

SYNOPSIS
Nica, a young student agronomist, returns to her parents’ home in the south of Italy after a long absence. She is deeply attached to her grandmother’s land and its centuries-old olive trees, which have not borne fruit for three years. They are infested with insects which no pesticide has so far been able to eradicate. Nica is resolved to find a solution. But time is running out because her parents are struggling financially and want to cut the trees down. As gentle but as strong-willed as the nature with which she shares a bond, Nica will have to stand up to her father.
